Laser-induced polymerization of gaseous ethynyltrimethylsilane was used for efficient chemical vapour deposition of polycarbosilane films[5]. Ethynyltrimethylsilane acts as substrate for nickel-catalyzed cross-coupling with benzonitriles[2].
